The Tau Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi was founded in 1922 and has enjoyed eighty uninterrupted years on the Cal campus. Our Chapter is the most diverse on campus, with Brothers from every race, color, and walk of life. We reject the notion of being a "jock house", "brain house", or any other label. Every Brother is unique in his own right, although we do share the common value "That all Men are Created Free and Equal." We own our Chapter House through our Alumni Association, which allows us to control our own destiny. (Pi Lam is one of only three houses on campus that never closed during the 1960's.)

Alumni from our Chapter include professional sports agent Leigh Steinberg, Cal professor and Inktomi founder Eric Brewer, and Oak Tree Capital Management co-founder Rich Masson. Even one of the U.C. Regents is an Alumnus from our Chapter, Dick Blum. Nationally known Alumni include Dallas Maverick's owner Mark Cuban, filmmaker Michael Mann ("Heat", "Ali", "Miami Vice"), Olympic Decathlete Rafer Johnson, and Nobel Prize winner Richard Feynman.

After graduation, you will likely move away from school to face new challenges and exciting opportunities. However, the friendships that are made as a Pi Lam Brother endure.

"That All Men Are Created Free and Equal."
